Large cities within the ecoregion include Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; and Indianapolis, IN; Columbus OH; and Milwaukee, WI. This ecoregion is distinguished by its temperate climate, with landscapes featuring flat plains, gently rolling hills, and a mosaic of deciduous and mixed forests.
